I first spotted this adult Great-horned owl at Harrison Hills Park, Allegheny County on April 27th, 2011. She was being harassed by crows, but that's not how I found her. It was because she was making a low grade sound that at first I thought was a squirrel, and when I looked up, there she was. For years I would hear them at my old house without ever seeing one, this is my first sighting. It was a real treat!
I forwarded my photo link to the PABIRDS email list on that Wednesday.
