Great-horned Owl chick

Well it's hardly a chick anymore. On this day I saw the owls fly from the ground when I entered the woods way off in the distance. They ended up on different trees down the valley at Harrison Hills Park. It was June 1st, 2011. After I went down the valley I heard blue jays, robins, and other adults yelling at this young owl. So I walked up this hill which was farther away than other times I found them. They are flying much better now. I wonder if they are hunting yet? I still do see the adult, though.

Right after I took this photo, the owl flew off back to the valley.
