On May 7th I returned to see the Great-horned Owl chicks (immature owls) and I saw them both in a big red oak tree they seemed to prefer. One was sitting, on the left, and the other was laying flat on it's stomach looking straight down at me. The latter never moved nor blinked an eye. I was scared for I feared the worst. I though perhaps some fate had befallen the poor little chick. But the next day when I returned they were both fine. Perhaps he was sleeping? But with his eyes open...? It does make for a neat picture.
